Black Sumatra Chicken Hatching Eggs

IMPORTANT ORDERING INFORMATION: Eggs are collected fresh on Mondays from our breeding flock and shipped on Tuesdays by USPS Priority Mail or FedEx. Hatching Eggs are labeled with breed code to help with ID during incubation. Eggs can be shipped year-round, but please use your own discretion when ordering during extreme weather. We guarantee that your eggs will arrive unbroken, but will not guarantee your hatching success because of the many variables with shipping, incubating, and hatching. Breakage must be reported upon arrival.

Originating from Sumatra Island in Indonesia, the Black Sumatra Chicken is a gorgeous deep black chicken with a green sheen. Due to their pheasant-like behavior, they were also known as the Java Pheasant Game Bird. These excellent foragers are great for free-ranging, as they fly higher than most chickens to escape predators, even with clipped wings. The Black Sumatra has black skin and bones, and males can have multiple spurs. They are a layer of 100 white to tinted medium-sized eggs a year and tend to lay throughout the winter. Grab your incubator and hatch these out today!
