Buckeye Hatching Eggs

IMPORTANT ORDERING INFORMATION: Eggs are collected fresh on Mondays from our breeding flock and shipped on Tuesdays by USPS Priority Mail or FedEx. Hatching Eggs are labeled with breed code to help with ID during incubation. Eggs can be shipped year-round, but please use your own discretion when ordering during extreme weather. We guarantee that your eggs will arrive unbroken, but will not guarantee your hatching success because of the many variables with shipping, incubating, and hatching. Breakage must be reported upon arrival.

Buckeye eggs are brown in color. The Buckeye breed is known for having excellent meat and is described as being curious, calm, and friendly - making them a fantastic choice for homesteaders or as part of a backyard family flock. They have close-fitting pea combs that make them ideal for colder climates. They were named for their feather coloring which can be compared to the dark mahogany of the red buckeye nut. This bird originated in Ohio, the Buckeye State, and is the only breed of chicken accepted into the APA that was developed by a woman.
