Fibro Easter Egger Day Old Chicks

The Fibro Easter Egger is a new and exciting designer chicken belonging to a unique group with Fibromelanosis (hyper melanin or hyperpigmentation) and will present with dark feathering, skin, or features. Fibro Melanistic is a genetic mutation that causes the chicken to have increased melanin. The degree of black feathering with Fibro Easter Eggers will vary as will secondary colors but the skin, legs, and lobes will all be black colored. They’ll lay 4-5 eggs per week and the eggs will range from olive green to turquoise blue and occasionally rose or brown. Generational offspring may lay eggs that are green, blue-green tinted, white, or even pale blue with white speckling. Fibro Easter Eggers may have crests.

Considered a calm and docile chicken, the Fibro Easter Egger will be a welcome addition to your backyard flock. While still considered a dual-purpose chicken, they are on the smaller side of standard. Cold and heat-hardy too!

This breed is a hybrid. Hybrids are created by crossing two different parents and will not breed true. Crosses are generally created for vigor and production qualities, but also for desired traits such as egg color or feather patterns. Meyer Hatchery does not disclose what breeds we use to create our designer breeds as that is considered proprietary knowledge.
