The Brown Chinese goose is a descendant of the Asian Swan Goose and shares some of the same unique traits such as plumage in varying shades of gray and brown, and a knob at the top of the bill. This a very practical breed as they are great weeders, “watchdogs,” good layers, and produce the least greasy meat. It is hard to say when they came to North America, but it has been recorded that Brown Chinese Geese roamed George Washington’s beautiful Mount Vernon farm. The perfect addition to any homestead or farm.
